Follwing in daddy's footsteps....

Today Victor Demarchelier son of the acclaimed photographer, Patrick Drmarchelier, hosted his first New York show at Clic Gallery in SoHo. Titled “Creating Images,” the exhibit featured 20 works taken by Demarchelier over the past several years. Although, hesitant to whether he would follow in his father's footsteps to become a photographer, it seems as though Victor has finally decided to give into his passion. “I used to get cameras and stuff for Christmas, but I never thought I would be a photographer,” says the shutterbug, who grew up in New York City and attended Lycée Français on the Upper East Side (WWD). Though he remembers accompanying his dad on shoots in St. Barth’s, “I never wanted to be one of those people who just did what their parents do."But after graduating from Vassar with a degree in economics, “I quickly realized I didn’t want to work at a bank.”  So he decided to take a dip into the photography career, by running a small gallery out of his house. Several years later, it seemed  as if Demarchelier could not withhold from his undeniable talent and he truly began to take awakening to his calling in the photography world. We hope to see more of the young photographer and wish him the best of luck!
ENJOY. xx
